VSL Fleet
As an Institute of the Motor Industry recognised National Observer (advanced driving mentor), qualified Advanced Driver and Chartered Insurance Practitioner with over four decades of insurance underwriting and sales experience, Jim Bowles is uniquely positioned to support you in Fleet Risk Management and the positive impact it has on the underwriting and the placement of fleets.
Jim`s introduction to advanced driving techniques came as a result of his father, a serving Police Officer, telling him “now that you`ve passed your test I will teach you how to drive.” So began his introduction to the Police Roadcraft Manual and the System of Car Control.
Jim is the Chief Car Observer with the Glasgow North Group of Advanced Motorists where he assists others on a voluntary basis to improve their driving to achieve advanced test standard.
As a Commercial Insurance Development Underwriter Jim firmly believed that the performance and awareness of a driver had a direct correlation to the performance of a fleet and designed schemes and rating structures to reward businesses who embraced a positive attitude towards fleet control.
Due to the current economic situation with rising premiums and claims inflation predicted it is even more important to address the source of potential claims and persuade fleet insurers that you have a well managed fleet with low potential for claims.
To further enhance Velocity Scotland’s Fleet service offering Jim welcomes two new team members;
– Fraser Hunter who is a Class 1 Police Driving Instructor
– Gordon Myles a qualified ADI with HGV driving experience
